Our courses in Public Services explore the unique roles and duties of the uniformed and military services, and the criminal justice sector. From preparing to tour with military units across the world to examining evidence in a court of law, our courses will give you a real insight into your future career.

You’ll learn to expect the unexpected and prepare for the challenges of a career in the uniformed services. With a variety of outdoor activities, you’ll develop personal confidence, push your fitness and achieve more than you thought possible, while preparing you for the physical assessment necessary to enter the services.

You will plan and undertake an expedition, developing your leadership skills and learning how to work in a team. You will also learn about the social and political contexts of the work done by the public services.

And with a range of exciting trips, you’ll build your understanding of the real work of the public services. Past trips have included the Bear Grylls Experience, Ninja Warrior Studios, visits to the Shepton Mallet Prisons, observing cases at Salisbury Magistrates, full-kit riot training with the Bristol Police Force, and taking the entry test with the Royal Navy.
