We offer a variety of pathways into the land-based industries for learners working at entry level and level 1. Visit our Access to Land-based Studies department page to find out more.
Whether you’ve grown up on a farm or never set foot on one, Lackham is a unique place to learn Agriculture with an incredible range of industry-level resources at your fingertips.
Set in 1600 acres, Lackham is home to two working farms and land-based engineering workshops which make the perfect classroom for hands-on learning and developing your skills for further study or employment.
And it’s an exciting time at Lackham, with more than £9milion being invested on campus to provide new facilities including a state-of-the-art Agri-tech building and a robotic milking parlour – the first to be installed at a College in this country.
Students undertaking our courses benefit from working links with some of the biggest commercial farming companies, work experience on mixed and diversified farms throughout the South West and are guaranteed overseas work in USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Every year, agriculture students have the fantastic opportunity to support one of the College’s biggest and most anticipated events of the year: Lambing at Lackham, which has been running for 25 years and attracts thousands of visitors young and old. There is also the opportunity to take part and attend shows and exhibitions including the Bath & West Show.
With students travelling from near and far to study at Lackham, halls of residence on campus allow many students to live onsite.
